Children coming to our school-age program have a chance to relax through quiet play, an alone area and in the reading center, where language arts skills are nourished. They find assistance with homework during free time, and broaden language, listening and music skills during circle time. On days when public school is closed (and the New Dream is open) children enjoy longer blocks of time to pursue interests, enjoy friends and have a lot of fun.

We have a kiln and ceramics area in the afterschool classroom, so the children get to practice fine motor skills as well as artistic expression.

The science center within our room features rotations of informative nature posters, animal specimen jars, scat (poop) jars, mosses, lichens, books, plants, stones and various other organic and in-organic materials. We also enjoy microscopes and a sensory bin for carrying out experiments and exploring various materials.

The school aged children enjoy our busy summer program, and have many opportunities to attend field trips, park days and walks around our local community.
